One of my proudest acheivements in this room is the cable management system I came up with. Running about an inch underneath almost the entire length of the desk is additional Elfa shelving. All the cables from the various devices travel ontop of this shelf eliminating almost all visual signs of cables.
Coming up with a good cabling solution wasn't easy. I really wasn't happy with any of the commercially available solutions so I had to come up with my own. The shelves are attached against the wall with a component from the Elfa system that's actually meant fot hanging the vertical standards upon which the shelf support brackets rest. The front end of the shelves are supported by some thin rope tied between the shelf and eyelet hooks screwed into the bottom of the desk. Pretty low tech, but the system works great.
